This one’s for you, Mom.

May 14th, 2007

I finally finished my mother’s day present today – I know it’s a day late, but once you see it, I think you’ll understand. My mom saw this in progress at dinner on Saturday night – we celebrated a day early since we all couldn’t get together on Sunday (yes my mom is very accommodating and tolerant of her 3 daughters’ schedules!)

The lacy yoga bag from the Summer Interweave Knits — that arrived on doorsteps last week, thank you very much. My mom always carries her sock knitting with her, so when I saw this bag, I thought it would be perfect for summer sock knitting!

Here’s a detail of the lace pattern. I hate to say it, but it’s a simple lace pattern that works up very quickly. Of course, I already started a bag for myself!

And here’s the lining – yes, fully lined!

Project specs:

Pattern: Lacy Yoga Bag by Alison Green Will, Summer Interweave Knits
Yarn: Filatura Di Crosa Millefili Fine, color 9552, 1.5 skeins
Needles: US 6 & 7 addi’s
Lining: Joann’s Fabrics
Began: May 6, 2007
Completed: May 14, 2007

I hope all you Moms out there enjoyed your special day!

Danni, did you make any modifications to the pattern (like the strap)? I’m finishing up this bag and wonder if the strap as specified will be too stretchy or sturdy enough. Your bag is beautiful in the variegated yarn.
