Socks, socks, socks!

May 28th, 2008

Well, my sock knitting mojo has returned thanks to my wonderful classes with Charlene Schurch. And I’m in training for the Summer of Socks.

I dug deep into my WIP basket and found these socks:

My own pattern that I began last June (yes, almost a year ago!).

I finished one sock, then promptly forgot about it. It really needs a mate, so I cast on for the second. We’ll see how long it takes – hopefully not a whole year.

I started a toe up sock after the toe up sock workshop with Charlene Schurch. I didn’t really like how the yarn was pooling, so I ripped it out, and began with a different yarn. Schaefer Yarn Company’s Heather is very nice to work with, and I’m having better luck with the variegation. Colorway: Ingrid Bergman.

Here’s a more accurate representation of the colors.

My first toe-up design, and I’m loving it. I found a reverse heel that I really like.

I also finished another pair of Knitting Central Sock Club Socks – Bed Socks by Lynn Wilson.

I love this pattern. And with the yarn – Sheep Three by Sheep Shop Yarn Co., these just may be my favorite socks to date. Look at that cabley goodness.
