SOS training

June 9th, 2008

The Summer of Socks is set to begin in a few weeks, and I’m in training.

I started these socks Saturday night – Impressionist Socks – using, what else, Koigu.

Easy lace pattern, 2 circs, and Koigu – what else do you need for socks? I know these wouldn’t count towards SOS, so I wanted to get the hankering to make them out of my system. I changed the picot top to ribbing, and used a Japanese short row heel.

I love how Koigu pools while using US 2.5 needles. The color is more accurate in the second photo.

I also started a second pair of my new sock pattern in Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock. I’m liking the solid much better with the pattern. The Schaefer Anne I started with was just to play.

Again, the color is more accurate in the second photo. And of course, I matched my knitting bag to my project. Yes, dorky. But I’m ok with that.

And I leave you with this:

Last week, thunderstorms blew through. It got really dark, then lightened some, and out came this beautiful rainbow. What a treat! Then it downpoured. Boy do we need that today.

Happy Knitting!
