Quick afternoon project

March 25th, 2007

I took advantage of a lazy weekend afternoon today and knit. This is what I completed:

Pattern: Blue Sky Alpaca Fingerless Gloves (modified to wrist warmer length)
Yarn: Blue Sky Alpaca Royal – less than one skein (left overs from these gloves)
Needles: US 5 dpns
Began/Finished: This afternoon!

These wrist warmers measure about 5″ from ribbing to ruffle, so it’s not that I knit really fast, they’re just not that big. And I thoroughly enjoyed this pattern and this yarn. The Alpaca Royal is so soft and warm. I definitely want to knit a full-sized pair. I just really needed some instant gratification today.

The second silky sock is moving along – I completed the gusset, so it’s down to the foot and toe now. The second sock is pooling a bit differently than the first. I kind of like it.

And I got a little further along on my lace shawl – I’m on the 8th repeat – only 21 1/2 more to go. I’m a bit bored with the pattern, so I’m not working on it all that much. I figure if I don’t pick it up very often, I won’t get as bored.

There’s still a whole lot of yarn left on that lace ball, and the shawl will take all of it. I will finish it eventually.

You are such a speedy maniac, I love it!!! The wristwarmers are lovely–they are rapidly turning into one of my fave things to knit b/c that are so quick!
