No Second Sock Syndrome Here!

March 29th, 2007

The Rib and Cable Socks are finished!

Check out the cabley softness:

I can’t wait to wear these – they’re soft and squishy, and warm and cozy. They will make their debut on Saturday at Nancy Bush’s class at Knitting Central. Can’t wait for that class – Saturday can’t get here soon enough.

It can be very bad when you work at your LYS and open the new boxes arriving daily. You get a first look at yarn and such that you really shouldn’t be looking at. Case in point: Lucy Neatby is teaching next month. She sent a box full of her Celestial Merino for the Cool Socks class. I opened the box. I really shouldn’t have opened the box. I immediately took the box into the back room so I wouldn’t be disturbed while sorting the colors (and trying to justify buying the whole damn thing!). I think I was pretty restrained. I walked out of the back room with just one skein – the Sugar Maple colorway. Look at those colors. I love those colors. Those are my colors.

The yarn went into storage until the class, but I was able to sneak away with this skein. (It is also bad when you do the receiving at your LYS, and you can easily add new items into the computer so a coworker can check you out for said new items.) I did volunteer to store the yarn until the class, but Cynthia didn’t think that was a good idea, even though Lucy said she could send yarn more before the class.

Now I just have to find the perfect sock pattern!

Hope you’re all enjoying the beautiful spring weather! Can’t believe we has a snow storm not two weeks ago! Spring in New England – gotta love it!

Hi Danni, its Jeanann from KC. Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying being a voyer on your beautiful blog with all its knitted goodness. This socks are simply gorgeous with that pattern! You got me with the Lucy Neatby sock yarn though and I was all ready to run down to KC to get some tomorrrow. I did however get into the cool socks class so that means I will get one eventually? I hope the answer is yes. If Lucy sent more I would buy a bunch in a heartbeat so tell Cynthia there are definitely people who will buy it. Anyway, enough of my jib jabbing, I have to go work on my Blue Moon sock now!
