Rain, rain go away!

April 16th, 2007

Well, I survived the monsoon that was our April Nor’easter. It started raining Sunday morning around 5 am, and finally stopped this morning for a bit. I worked at Knitting Central yesterday – it’s amazing how knitters brave downpours and 40 mph winds to get their yarn fix. We are a strong bunch, aren’t we?

I haven’t gotten much knitting done this week – work, work and more work. I did start these socks on Easter:

They’re the Uptown Boot socks from Favorite Socks. With this yarn, I knew there was no chance of pooling – I think if I started another pair of pooling socks, I would definitely have thrown them out the window – and that’s just plain cruel – it’s not the yarn’s fault. The yarn is scheepjes invicta colors – 75% wool, 25% nylon. It’s working up quickly and the pattern is interesting enough without clashing with the colors. Perfect for Spring – if it ever gets here – according to a certain weatherman, the first 15 days of January were warmer than the first 15 days of April. Go figure!

I’ve also been swatching some new designs. Here is a peek at one:

Lace and RYC Cashcotton 4 ply – yum!

Did you? Have a great week!
